Kyphoplasty vs vertebroplasty?

Are there any out of the ordinary differences between the indications and contraindications for these 2 procedures?
It seems from the literature that kyphoplasty is more significant and safer of the two but are there any instances where on earth VP can be used but KP shouldn't?
I know by saying this I will probably provoke culture to do it anyway...but can you please not just copy reams of irrelevant info give or take a few these two procedures on wikipedia and paste it as an answer! I could own done that myself!Kyphoplasty vs vertebroplasty?
OK -- you've done your homework and know what the procedures are and what they are done to treat and your question is a great one.
So...one (the biggest one I've seen) explanation that one is chosen over the other is that a kyphoplasty can't be done for "old" vertebral fractures. The reason: "old" fractures own started to heal somewhat and the fracture fragments aren't consequently loose enough to be moved/elevated next to the kyphoplasty balloon.
medicine and condition guarantee correctness , is for informational purposes only guidance or treatment for any medical conditions.
