is it basically a surgeon who does research(MD/Phd)?Is near a duty where on earth you research unknown surgical procedures?
Most MD/PhD's work at research institutions where on earth there available job is to come up with innovative thinking on procedures and other aspects of medicine. Each research facility may enjoy have its own special focus, for example MD anderson focuses on cancer. Sometimes, they will subcontract to private companies. These companies do the animal side of the research, and outline a method for a new procedure. they will afterwards contact the hospital/FDA/review borad and the surgeons will then try the experiment on patients. There are abundant steps to trying new procedures, next to many job along the way.
I don't know if within is a physician who specifically does research for new procedures, but commonly pioneer surgeons are the ones who create new procedures base on experience.
