Is it true that the amount of optical cortex have increased contained by babyish inhabitants contained by the final generation?

I wonder whether there are studies on the issue. I received that information at a Professional Development Day, but it was not supported by evidence, and I have not the occasion to ask for sources. If anybody can lend a hand me to find the truth. I do not think truth should be solitary for sensationalsimIs it true that the amount of optical cortex have increased contained by babyish inhabitants contained by the final generation?
I doubt that that is the casing. But, even if it is I don't think it's possible to do test to find out. The ability to map the function of the living brain (usually next to fMRI scans) hasn't been around for highly long and certainly not long plenty that large adequate samples could hold been tested more than 10 years ago or so. Even in a minute there aren't copious studies using that kind of notes for large merciful populations. The only other bearing to do that kind of experiment would be to do some very involved staining procedures on autopsy specimens, which is vastly tedious work that I doubt would own been done on any substantial scale.
