My 3 yr matured daughter have uti and have a white blood cell count of 30 surrounded by her pee, is that severe?
Cell counts in urine are usually done by viewing portion of the sample underneath a microscope and counting the cells. The results are reported as number of cell seen per soaring powered field on the microscope. It is usual to see a few white blood cells (WBCs) surrounded by urine - less than 5 is usually adequate. The reason that your daughter's WBC count is illustrious is because of her UTI. The job of WBCs is to spar infection, so because your daugther has a urinary infection, one would expect to see an elevated WBC count. It is in actuality good to see an elevated WBC count because i.e. evidence that the body is fighting the infection. A WBC count of 30 is not out of vein with what is customarily seen next to an infection.
